DIY homemade pet food is a great way to keep your dog healthy. Making homemade pet foods can save you money and ensure you’re giving your pet the best diet possible.

There are many varieties of commercial dog food available today, but they are often filled with fillers, sugars, cornmeal, wheat middlings, soybean mill run, meat by-products, or other low-quality ingredients that are unhealthy for our dogs. Commercial pet food will never compare to the wholesome goodness of homemade nutritious dog treats which use only whole fresh meat and vegetables as their main ingredients.

We make all our homemade cat and dog foods now because it’s better for them in every way; cheaper per pound than commercially produced dry food, better for them nutritionally with all the lean meats, and best of all they love it!

Another reason pet owners feed their dog’s homemade dog food is to avoid all the chemical preservatives such as BHA, BHT, ethoxyquin, propylene glycol found in commercial pet foods. Commercial pet foods are preserved to increase the shelf life while preventing spoilage caused by bacteria. However, these additives have been linked to many health problems including allergies and organ toxicity. Do your homework before you buy commercial pet food or make your own homemade dog food recipes at home.
